DEWVA Committee Member PC Ashley Clark of Nottinghamshire Police organised UK wide CPD Event on the topic of ‘Chemsex’ which was delivered by the Metropolitan Police’ ‘Project Sagamore’ Team and HM Prison & Probation Service. This event was attended by 215 law enforcement experts nationally.
The input was specifically tailored for an audience of Drug Expert Witnesses and Specialist Crime teams which aimed to bring together key strategic leads from Criminal Justice and other key stakeholders to encourage enhanced collaboration to address crime related risk, harm and vulnerability within the Chemsex context. In addition to this the event highlighted the importance of understanding the uniqueness of the poly drug market and how organised crime operates within the chemsex context, enabling attending experts to recognise the national and international significance of this unique context of crime in order to make sense of :
